China is considered as one of the oldest civilizations of the world. Its full name is People's Republish of China which covers an area of 3691000 Sq. miles, about 1/15 of the land area of the world. China is located in East Asia by the Pacific Ocean. It reaches about 3105 miles from east to west and about 3416 miles from north to south. According to recent population census, China's latest population is close to 1.4 Billon.

In order to have good administration, the country is divided into 23 provinces, 5 autonomous region (Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, Guangxi Zhang Autonomous Region, The Tibet Autonomous Region, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, And the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region), 4 municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing) directly under the Central Government and 2 special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau).

The official language is Mandarin (or Putonghua, based on the Beijing dialect). Local dialects include Yue (Cantonese), Wu (Shanghaiese), Minbei (Fuzhou), Minnan (Hokkien-Taiwanese), Xiang, Gan, Hakka dialects, and other minority languages. Most tourist hotels have staffs who are fluent in foreign languages.
